Goofin' with After Effects

I am a busy bee.  Besides creating and entering work for different job considerations, contests, making delicious food, and going outside,  I am also toning up my reel.  I like to model things I have.  I love objects and have based my models on things that also exist in real life.  It frees me from worrying about my own artistic skill and the insecurities that can bring.  I have the technical skill, but I feel my design and artistic skills, while quite improved over the past couple years, are nascent and just coming into their own.

More after the jump, including video that will give you life of dreams!!!

Green Screen: Go Joe!

Green screen is easy when you are working in a small scale.  You can light with flashlights.  I need to begin working green screen with a bigger scale!

Anyways, I am modeling 3D in Maya based on objects I have.  Mostly old accessories from Transformers, like the Swift3D/Flash sample I posted (I don't think it shows up in IE, but it does in Firefo).  This camera I filmed after the jump is a small plastic accessory from GI Joe: A Real American Hero.  More after the jump

Steve Ray Vaughn - Little Wing

Stevie Ray Vaughn's Little Wing.  I miss this man's guitarwork.  I can vividly remember watching his Cold Shot video back in 1984 on Channel 66, which used to play music videos all day.  It was so much better than MTV

Stairway To Heaven - Sung Backwards. Played Forwards!

Now I present you with the normal version, the Forwards version as they say at Harvard.

I guess this stuff is being sold somewhere on a DVD. No prob. I don't post stuff intentionally if they are also offered commercially. I just didn't know.

Stairway To Heaven - Sung Backwards. Played Backwards

"My sweet satan, I sing this song for you."  That is one thing you will hear when you play Stairway To Heaven backwards.  Go to the part where the drums kick in and Plant sings about bustles in your hedgerow being a work of the May Queen.  That's the verse you play backwards to get the sweet satan bit.
Thus, through extrapolation, our protagonist, who was raised a Jehovah's Witness, taught himself how to sing it backwards, then filmed himself singing it in such manner and through contrivances of plot and mechanics, reversed the tape and added such musical narration to complete the 21st century literature I present.

This video is commercially available.  Didn't know that when I posted these versions.  Visit Jeroen Offerman if you'd like to see a preview of what you could buy.

Digital Archive Project

Vlcsnap8509174 I love The Digital Archive Project!   Go there and you will (eventually) be able to download quite a few commercially unavailabe television shows.  I'm gorging myself, slowly, on MST3K.  It's relatively safe peer-to-peer trading.  No extraneous shit.  Just approved checksumed movies.
There are so many episodes I have never, ever seen.  Some I have seen over and over and over.

Ahh, the joys of "The Ninja Truck Stop" joke.
